Victoria trip.

Darren and I have not been on a vacation just the two of us in a really long time.  Too long.  We have also both been so busy with work and other personal projects that we needed a break.  Just us two.

We decided that on Easter long weekend we would pack our weekender bags and take the ferry to Vancouver Island.  We stayed at the sweetest bed and breakfast in Victoria.   We pretty much just read, ate amazing food, and napped.  It was exactly what we wanted.  Here are some of the highlights.

On the ferry.

Our bed and breakfast.

Strolling through China town.

Walking around the city.

Best Pizza I have ever had.

Can't wait till my next trip!

Family Visit

These past couple of months have been packed full of visitors. We are so lucky to have so many fun people come visit us.

This week Darren's sister Lana was visiting from San Francisco. We had a week full of great times, but this dining experience in particular was very awesome. We went for brunch at Two Chefs and a Table

Custom Etsy Order

Today we had the most beautiful weather in Vancouver. It made for a nice day of sewing since I just opened the blinds on my big windows and listened to this. In between projects, I took a nice stroll down to the beach, people watched for a bit, got a bit of inspiration, and headed back home to sew.

I made a new custom bag that an Etsy customer requested. This orange leather is amazing. Probably the softest leather I have every found (actually my Mom found it). It came from this cute leather skirt. Unfortunately there is none left. I already made a couple bags out of it.

Here it is:

This is going to be a long one...

This weekend I had some family in town so I decided it was time to buckle down and buy a wedding dress. This was going to be an interesting experience for 2 reasons.

1) I am a FAST shopper. I don't dwell on things, I don't usually try things on, and I don't put things on hold. So I wanted to have a dress picked out fast, and I did. In like 45 minutes.

2) I work in a bridal boutique. Enough said.

Here are some pictures of my top picks. These dresses are all amazing, but not what I ended up going with.

Sweetpea- Retail $2,200.

Dakota- Retail $950.00

Sweet Dreams- Retail $880.00

I was in New York for Bridal Market last fall for work. I was not engaged at the time but saw a dress that I fell in love with and thought "If I get married soon...". Two months later I was engaged! We did not end up bringing that exact dress into the store, but I did get it shipped to me to try on when my family was here. I tried it on and I was done shopping. I knew I would be. That is just how I roll. It is amazing. Can't wait to show pictures in November.

All these dresses are available at Frocks. If you come in, I may just be there.
